Brian….if you should see this…thank you so much for the great songs. I grew up on all your music in Ventura. My sister Rose and I still love all your music and wanted to be that surfer girl so badly. We still love your music. She married a surfer!! And she brought Ben Apia and Larry Burtleman home one day. I was making lunch. I thought she was crazy. I’m s go got to grownup with your music, see you all in concert and listen to you in my car. I love Pet sounds he most. And I love Surfs Up. God bless you and your families. What a great documentary! I've watched/read lots of BW/Beach Boys docs/books over the years and this is like the condensed but most real of them all. The musicians... they knew, and still know, how special and unusual Brian's talent was. Carol Kaye is so great here, as are all the wrecking crew folks, discussing the nuts and bolts music making process - the boring stuff, even for them. The sincerity and warmth is palpable. They all love Brian, and it doesn't seem like it's based solely on monetary gain or even prestige. They genuinely liked the man and his music. It's nice to see Brian at his most cogent and affable here, exploding a few of the myths that have surrounded his life for decades now. He's not as helpless as some would have you believe, though he's certainly had some challenges over the years. The fact that he can still discuss and even perform his life's work proves that whatever he's lost over time hasn't taken the most important part of him, and that makes me happy.

For me, Surf's Up>A Day in the Life... 💯

That cow town was Hawthorne, California. I live about 10 minutes from that location. Sadly the home was torn down for the 105 freeway but a nice monument was put up with the help of a relative of Al Jardine.

"Don't Worry Baby" was never intended for The Ronettes. It's clearly from the point of view of a man. A girl wouldn't have been singing about drag racing and cars.

Wow! The fact that this was played live is mindblowing. It sounds amazing! Would have loved to have experienced the smile tour back in the 2000s. At least i got to see brian and his band perform pet sounds in 2016. A bit older though.

How great to see these two artists being open and honest with each other about their work. Love them both. RIP Ronnie. You brought us so much joy with your unique voice and gifts.

"surf's up" is new to me . I'm in a Beatles obsession and so obviously I know that Paul McCartney loves Pet Sounds and also "surf's up" was the favorite song of Bob Welch (my favorite guitar/singer Fleetwood Mac ever had)😊
